Terms
These terms cover the You Dead? iOS app and this website, made by Tundra Industries. Using the app means you accept them.
What the app is
You Dead? lets two people who have agreed to it ask each other for proof of life, and tells the asker when no proof arrives before the deadline.
What the app is not
You Dead? is not an emergency, medical, monitoring, or life-safety service. It does not call anyone for you, does not contact emergency services, and does not dispatch help. Notifications depend on Apple, on networks, and on the other person’s phone being on, charged, and in signal — none of which we control. A missed ask means nobody answered. It does not mean anything else. Never rely on this app as your only way of knowing someone is safe.
Consent, and how you may use it
- Nobody can be asked without accepting the pair first. Do not try to get around that.
- Do not use You Dead? to harass, stalk, coerce, or monitor anyone against their wishes. Either side can mute or leave at any moment, and that is final.
- Asks are rate limited, and loud asks are limited further. Do not attempt to defeat those limits or to access the API other than through the app.
- You must be 12 or older, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.
Your content
Your selfies and answers stay yours. You give us only the permission needed to store them and deliver them to the person you are paired with, for as long as you keep them. You are responsible for what you send.
You Dead? Plus
Plus is sold through Apple as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Payment is charged by Apple; refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. Prices may change for future periods, and you will be told first. Answering is free and always will be.
Availability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties. We may change, suspend, or end features, and we will try to be sensible about it. To the fullest extent the law allows, Tundra Industries is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending it
Delete everything in Settings, at any time, for any reason. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, particularly the consent rules.
Changes
If these terms change materially, the app will say so before the change takes effect.
